The New Sheriff
--
Chapter One
Elena was a young but quick to the whip sheriff. All days were long and rough.
“Hey, you can’t be there.” Elena cried.
“ What I’m homeless fruit.” The homeless man said while laying in his tent.
“I’m the sheriff of the county.” Elena said loud “There’s shelters for you to go to okay.”
“No, I’m here now.” He said
“Not anymore okay your safe now.” She replied
He throw the tent at her and made a break for it on foot. She began to chase him while drawing her taser.
It was another morning in Doral. Elena already had a donut and coffee ready when the call came in. She could hear over the intercom about the thieving.
“I’m close by!” she replied.
She turned on the sirens and headed out. Happy and excited to see it.
“He stole I don’t care.” The manager hollered.
“What did he take?” Elena asked kindly.
“Some gummy worms, a soda pop, and cologne.” The cashier told her. “ I want him hit!”
“We’re on it, but gently.” Elena laughed.
When she has caught up to em he was almost to the next city. As she circled and called for back up he fell into the creek.
“Case Closed.” She hollered.
The animal shelter was nowhere in site for the young student. What dog yank’s you and circles around? I’ll have to find him. It’s a small neighborhood as it is. It should be easy.
“Hey, have you seen a beagle?” She asked Elena, while she was making her rounds to find out what to patrol.
“No, not at all?” Elena responded “ Where were you walking him, what happened?”
“I didn’t mean, too.” she said.
“No, it’s okay, so I can help you look better for him?” She comforted.
“I was Around the fountain, when he tied my feet with the leash.” The student said.
“Okay, I’m gonna head to it, no worries!” Elena said as she was taking her personal information.
The day was going normal as Elena was on her search across town for the little dog. The news already let her know before the humidity outside. The dog has gotta be somewhere? She had nothing else to do in her mind. She knew she could pick up the trial close. The sun was starting to set as the day almost closed. There he was, she finally found him by the fountain. It was time to call the student to relax her. The student got excited as the she carried him to her.
“And found.” Elena said to the student.
The dog had growled low and on his own. Elena had started to look at the student, than out of nowhere the dog had started to vomit. They had started looking through the puck they had saw a tip of a finger. Flesh was still attached to the bone.
Elena went on her way she could not believe it. She was still shocked in a way. A finger in her city, they had to dust off the CSI equipment that they had. Shocking and disturbing as it was she built up to do the call.
“This is a direct order, Come out to Wood and Mambrino.” Elena said panic. “Bring back up and the evidence team.”
They hurried up as they were walking around. They had to get it down and done quickly. It was almost afternoon and no reports of dismemberment happened to them, yet. It was an eerie creepy feel. They had to find out more about the finger forensics was on it. The doctor working hard to figure out the finger.
“ It has to come from someone!” Sheriff Elena hollered at the doctor. “Find out!”
He went back to the backroom to look at the scope again and run more DNA. The feeling got scarier and scarier. She had to get a grip with herself. To be treated this way the phone started to ring. She answered it only to hear grief.
“Do you like the message?” The eerie voice said.
“What message?” She replied.
“We are pointing right at you.” He said as the phone hung up.
The queasy feeling in her stomach had been there all night she still could see the image in her mind. The finger out of the dogs mouth, the phone call. At first she had no idea if the dog had got someone at first bite. Then the found call who was after her to start. Her mind was worried. It was time to go back to bed, was all she could think about right now. The air was eerie for Elena as she drove around. The finger and phone call non-stop in her mind. She could still feel the chill in the air from that. It was almost time to leave the office and do some rounds. While she was getting into the squad car she couldn’t help, but notice she wasn’t alone in her world. What was creeping around she couldn’t help, but wonder. A small squeak happened as she shut and locked the door. She was alone and the day was running behind in her mind. It was time to sped up and go. There it was again. She had to go out and look, but there was nothing. She continued on her way through the darkness. The sooner this shift was done. The better off she was. She would be able to rest and relax on her own. Not have to worry if anything was going on or if she should be concerned for her health. It would be just her and the television. Boom!

The sheriff’s car spun around. It was dark she started to bleed. There was laughter in the air around. It was a small fight in her mind, but who would hit and run her, the sheriff. She had dialed nine-one-one. The ambulance had came and tried to cut the door open. It had eventually popped open. Elena slide out unable to get to heer feet. They took her to the hospital.
